
Melinda Massar, Clinical Research Pharmacist
Melinda Massar is a licensed pharmacist with over 25 years of expertise spanning pharmacy operations, regulatory compliance, and healthcare education. She is the founder and Consultant Pharmacist at Advocate Pharmacy Consultants, where she manages pharmacy operations for 24 ambulatory surgery centers and freestanding emergency rooms across Texas. Her responsibilities include conducting over 240 monthly patient chart audits, performing drug utilization reviews, and ensuring full compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations.
Melinda holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Pharmacy and Sociology from the University of Houston, with certifications in aseptic technique and pharmaceutical compounding. Her career began in long-term care and ambulatory services, driven by her passion for patient safety and medication adherence.
She previously served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy, where she taught aseptic technique, coordinated experiential learning, and supported student development in alignment with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. She has also served as a Visiting Professor at Lone Star College, teaching pharmaceutical math and community pharmacy practices.
Outside of healthcare, Melinda is a creative entrepreneur and founder of Massar’s Jewelry, a custom handmade silver and stone jewelry business. Her diverse career is matched by her active role in community leadership, including coordinating public school programs, church leadership, and Girl Scouts mentorship. Her academic excellence is reflected in her leadership within Rho Chi and Phi Lambda Sigma honor societies and multiple awards in pharmacy education and patient counseling.

Melinda Massar currently serves as the Consultant Pharmacist and Owner of Advocate Pharmacy Consultants, where she oversees pharmacy compliance and regulatory adherence for 24 ambulatory surgery centers and freestanding emergency rooms across Texas. Her role includes auditing over 240 patient charts monthly, conducting drug utilization reviews, and leading pharmacy policy updates in line with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. Previously, she was an Assistant Professor at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy, where she taught aseptic techniques, coordinated experiential learning and internships, and worked closely with the Board to promote patient-centered education. She also served as a Visiting Professor at Lone Star College, teaching community pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical mathematics. In addition to her healthcare contributions, Melinda is the founder of Massar’s Jewelry, a custom handmade jewelry business where she manages design, sourcing, production, and sales.
